My handcrafted concrete firepits can be used indoor or outdoor, and contain an embedded aluminum reservoir that uses rubbing alcohol as fuel, and a 4-8" flame comes up through fire glass or fire beads.
Just add about 250ml of 70-99% rubbing alcohol, the emission is only CO2 and water vapor. The alcohol can be purchased at the dollar store, pharmacy or amazon if you want to stock up - 12 500ml bottles of 99% is like $55.00 or so.
If you need to pack it in early, just extinguish with a wet paper towel. Don't keep the paper towel on the glass rocks though, and let it rest for 30-60 minutes. If you need to move it early, the bottom is the coolest. Glass and wood tables are fine, if a dining room table, I would out a trivet under it to take the warmth.
